Three days to Con

Uncategorized No Comments

Sagecon is this weekend and its looking good. The Union table has been a great success and we have had a large number of people take an interest and even suggest new panels and local resources to help out. The posters have done well and out of the 75 that I had made we are all out of the color ones. The school newspaper will be doing an article on Sagecon as well and as they were pretty accurate last year I have high hopes it will be great this time around as well. We should have a nice turnout this time.

Sagecon Meetings

Uncategorized No Comments

With Sagecon swiftly approaching I am setting up regularly scheduled weekly meetings from now until the main event. This should allow us to get most of the remaining organizational work out of the way and coordinate the disparate aspects of the convention. The meetings will take place on Thursdays at the Albany County Library on Grand at 5:00 PM . I encourage any and all interested persons to attend as this is a great place to get your ideas in for the upcoming event.

Sagecon’s awkward date for 2010

Uncategorized No Comments

We’re seeing great progress so far we’ve got people interested in and out of the state and even the local high schoolers are set to provide some material for the convention. There have been increasing issues with the fact that Sagecon has been scheduled for Easter weekend this year. It certainly is not ideal and not something that was planned for when the dates were originally set for 2010. We do not have a great many options at this point however, since we have the facility on those dates and all our material has those dates on it. There may be some ways to mitigate the problem to some extent especially by doing things like having an easter egg hunt at the convention but ultimately we will just have to deal with the fact.

Two week mark

Uncategorized No Comments

Sagecon is now less than two weeks out and we are getting very excited.  Things are finally coming together and we are bringing in people from much further than we ever expected.  We’ve made great strides and the prospects for events and attendance are significantly higher than the previous year.  We’ve got the entire classroom building available for our use and intend to make the most of it.  We are having demonstrations, crafting, classes, panels and more.  And as before it is completely free.  We are in the last stages of getting the official schedule online and look forward to seeing everyone there.
